eSpeak NG is a compact speech synthesizer that supports more than hundred languages and accents. It uses uses a "formant synthesis" method. This allows many languages to be provided in a small size. The speech is clear, and can be used at high speeds, but may sound more robotic than other speech synthesizers based on human speech recordings. It also supports Klatt formant synthesis, and can be used as a frontend for MBROLA in both speech and singing modes.
